I don't know if you are still looking for crits, but i'll post mine.
I think the head and hair look really good.
However the clothes are looking somewhat blurry.
Have you overlayed your normalmap on the diffuse texture for them?
If so,i would remove that.
the clothes could some more poly's,to give the folds some depth.
solid head, I like it. But its being let down a little by the clothing, the shirt looks very flat at the front, and the creases need more definition I think.
@movento - yes, I appreciate the crits. The head was my focus, then I worked on the details of the clothes. In hindsight, I would work to give the clothes more map space. The red and green channels of the normal map were used on both the clothes and the head.
@seth - yes, more polys are needed on the clothes. Glad you like the head. I feel like it came out fairly well. I did not skimp on polys for the head, but held back a bit with the shirt/vest.
@samgriffiths - I tried adding detail to the vest many ways. There are many layers of detail in the master file - maybe not enough. There is ao, but just for the shadowed areas. Perhaps the cavity map from Z is too intense.
@Heartless - thanks for the paintover. That is a nice subtle touch. There is actually an upper eyelid fold right above the lashes, but it did not show up very well. What you did looks nice.
he s a kind of guide for nathan i guess?
maybe. because thats my fist impression
at glance his face is slightly more western than usually people i met in my hometown.
maybe his frame or his neck too wide?
but im done nitpicking
very good job on details

The 3ds Max screen grabs use the real time shader from Laurens Corijn.

It's a small detail but I'd think it'd look much better.
