I've turned this annoying setting on in Maya what is it?

I've accidentally turned something on that is quite annoying. I am able to select objects with a drag select even though I'm in component mode of another object. This is definitely a setting somewhere as deleting my prefs fixes the issue. Anyone know what this setting is?

Found it, ignore selection priority was turned on? Not sure how that happened.

You probably needed to reset your selection tool. Double click on the cursor (Selection Tool) in the left toolbar, then reset it from the menu in the panel that comes up. You can toggle stuff like "Drag Selection" and "Camera-Based Selection" in there (the latter is essentially ignore backfaces.)

Yeah lots of important features are hidden away in the tool options. Check out the stuff for the move tool if you haven't already. Retain Component Spacing is a life saver. The hotkey editor for Maya blows, so it's really difficult to set it up the way you like (in my opinion.)

Nothing to do with the move tool it was ignore selection priority in the settings and preferences. I tried resetting the selection and moves tools before I posted.
