Hi, I'm new to polycount and decided to share my latest project.
This is a futuristic boiler that powers a ship. My focus was to make it lowpoly, yet retaining all the good looks. I've used a ton of normal maps in this project and still have some stuff to improve. I know I could have used less polygons (9,109 polys), but everybody improves on mistakes. Feel free to comment or give suggestions
That is nice. I like the iron-like appearance of the metal. Really good stuff. I'm not an unreal mapper, but based on some other maps I've seen, I think you are within the limit.
Thanks for the input guys! I was worried that if I push specs too much, it would look weird on some heavy machinery industrial room. But I`ll try and see what I get, I`ll post results a bit later (working on my new project right now).
Next-gen characters alone can have a 10k-20k tricount, so you are well within limits. For games like Crysis or Gears, there can be 2-3 milion polygons on-screen at times, so I think you're fine ;D.

The complementary lighting is nice. It feels a bit too orange in the back though. Maybe tone that down a smidge.
