gmax - Shift + Drag?

Im in the Halo community, the members there seem to enjoy using a common excuse of "i have gmax, so i can't make anything good". I wish to prove them wrong by just quickly modelling something in it.

I have never used it before, it seems fairly similar to max, but cut down. The only tools I will need it Editable poly, Shirt + Drag to extrude and target weld.

But Shift and Drag doesn't seem to work, does it have this feature?

What? GMax is still around? I thought that was discontinued in 2005 or something. Why not download it and find out? I doubt anyone here is using it. Blender would be better...

I have downloaded it and it doesn't seem to work Thought that maybe it did it a different way, I'm having to duplicate faces and reposition them.

And i'm sick of the excuse Sel lol, so though I may as well. video will prove to be pretty baad tbh as im messing around half the time thinking how to make parts without my normal tools lmao .

i think you can switch to editable mesh and use shift to extrude edges, and then switch back to editable poly. i remember 3dsmax5 or 6 was like this too.
