Ark-- your shading is beautiful, you just need to spend some time with proportions. For example, the godly gentleman in this last shot (before the torso study) suffers from a combined case of ghetto booty and petite feet. A couple of things that will help are paying particular attention to negative spaces and the shapes they make, using vertical and horizontal alignment to match with other body parts, and just spending time refining your understanding of the body's proportions. Knowing the vocabulary for all of these parts is particularly helpful in this regard, so keep it up.
Revisiting this to finish it up, just going to make it a normal jet engine and follow the reference as closely as possible instead of making it a sci-fi prop. Here's the high poly so far.

Graduating soon and also starting to get back into drawing/digital painting so I'll be updating more than once every two years.
Starting off with a creature, a Licker from the Resident Evil series.
I also dug up some old life drawings from a while ago:
Thanks, much appreciated
An update on the jet-engine thing.
