Big ups for Super Happy Cow for even giving crit. I didn't, I considered it but I honestly didn't know where to start.
I do however think that if you'll take on the advices given by SHC your will indeed, pretty soon start to get a good grasp of it. Sure its blunt crit, but its true.
You obviously have some of the foundations down, like modelling. All you need to know now is why you'll do it in a certain way, and I'm pretty sure that everything will start to add up.
Keep on posting on the forum and try to push your self to try different things, redo and you will soon start to get a good hang of it.
Sure the model you posted sucked but it's still not a bad attempt, it a very good attempt. It's just that 3D is hard as a art form. I think that if you just keep on doing it for fun you'll soon start getting more advanced and soon your stuff will be awesome.
There's so much good free tutorials, communities and since you have the software I don't see anything holding you back!
