The shape of the pillar makes me think large, but the size of the detailing on it gives the illusion that it's a bit on the small side. That's what she said. Damnit.
Your first piece, what is that center thing suppose to be? Because its in the center my eyes get drawn to it...and because its the least detailed piece amongst the whole object I then really want to stare at it. I would add more detail to that center piece because there is so many small, fine details in the support column, that my eye is immediately drawn to that center thing because its simple looking.
