Need Characters to Animate

Hi there,
I work as a character animator for a well known AAA game developer and our team is currently in the process of being closed by our parent company. As such, I'm working on my animation showreel to help me move on to pastures new.
To help show variety on my reel, it'd really help if I could show that I can animate lots of different character types. As I'm sure you all know, creating characters can be very time consuming, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any high quality game characters that they'd be willing to let me animate.
It would help if characters were weighted to a basic skeleton, but that's not essential, and there would be no need for them to be rigged (I can do that bit myself).
I understand that people can be very precious about their work, but this would really be helping me out of a tough situation. I'd obviously give credit to the original artist, and keep the artist updated when the reel was finished so that they can see the results, and veto if they're not happy with how their work is being represented.
