I really like the Barrel turret idea
3. presentation, whats up with showing the highpoly first and put the 3556 polygon count on it? totally confused me there for a second is it really 3556 polygons and not just 3556 triangles?
4. texture size and poly priority. The inside looks like it got the same texture resolution as the outside and just as many polygons and while that might look good it seems kinda unnecessary when those resources could be spent on something that the player will be looking at more.
My only crit is to push the spec map more like TheWinterLord suggested. Besides the scratches and dirt on the bottom, everything has too uniform a specularity. I don't think the green and yellow paint should have the same specularity as the bare metal.
Other than that, I love it. A futuristic take on the Treasure Chest Mimic monsters!
