Hi all. Quick question to ask everyone, I asked the same question in the viewer thread but thought maybe it would be buried in there, my apologies for the double post.
I have used the viewer many times, however it appears Im having some sort of issue now.
When I open/import an .obj it shows up solid black, and remains so even after applying a material. I thought perhaps I exported it wrong so I tried many of the exampled that come with the viewer, same results. Pure black with or without a material, and when I do a screenshot/render it a pure black image.
Would anybody know what might be causing this?
Any ideas welcome.
TY!

any other suggestions?
Is your video card capable of displaying real time normal maps? shader model 3? (I think?).
Did you apply textures to the materials?
Regardless of the skylight preset chosen it doesnt change anything, also, when I add a new light the object turns solid white. I brought in the "jebus" object from the examples folder and applied the matching texture, this however did not change anything, still solid black. I have used this version of marmoset on my comp before as well as viewing normal maps in Max2009.
Still nothing! Im sure its something simple Im missing, but i cnt think of it.
Any other ideas?
my video card is ATI HD 4870
and after I exported a obj, fbx with fliped normals and stufflike that
I opened an mesh which I finished last week and it comes solid black aswell, it was perfect last week (before I updated my drivers)
any suggestions?
