Demo reel updated, lookin for critiques!

http://vimeo.com/18458410

I'm looking for some feedback on my reel, anything and everything you folks see fit to throw at me- I'm trying to improve, not get warm fuzzy cozy cozies, so to speak.

it's been a few years since I posted on Polycount, so I just started a new account- i don't even use the email address I used with the old account anymore. It's kinda cool seeing old familiar faces (erm, avatars?)

:)

Have at it, folks!!!!

Thank you for your time.

I'd also add that you should probably try and centre the model before you rotate it, so it's not swinging left and right on the screen.. and avoid that other rotation where it's coming towards you. When combined and going at that speed, it just makes you dizzy.

@Super Happy Cow - tell me about it, usually that's me changing tabs then coming back and trying to delete something mid-post hitting backspace. If I do long posts I make sure I copy the text beforehand, as my internet likes to cut out frequently.

I agree with the others, everything is way too frantic, rotating too fast and you don't really get a good look at it. Depending on what industry you want to get into (guessing games?) you need to know that optimization and good workflow is part of the knowledge you need.

Abstract art is like you have is never really seen as having an artistic-sense, to most (like me) it feels like you've just mashed things together. I do agree that creating something abstract from the start can be a good way to start off a concept art painting, but I feel like it should always evolve into something more than just streaks across the screen.

I would recommend that you take some time and look at other showreels and realize that they are your competition, to have a fair chance you need to be as good as them or better to succeed. Good luck! And post more WIPs it helps to get constant feedback on your work all the time. :)
