Hello everyone.
New project. The idea was to create totally unreal and useless sword with sculpted relief ;]
Finished HP:
and first part of tutorial (time-lapse in fact). There will be second part (sculpting) for sure and maybe retopology and mapping, texturing part someday.:

text is a bit too... clean i guess. but other than that it's absolutely stunning.
DAMN! in a black voice
dziękuję bardzo
Updated first post. Part 2: sculpting
Which makes sense since I'm working on the sequel. :P
Nice work. Downloading the video now.
EDIT:
Yup, same
EDIT:
Is the 2nd Part working for you others? Or is it something on my side?
So any low poly and textures coming up?
I have the same problem as THE 5 though, both downloads contain "Hellsword par1.2.avi" and "Hellsword part1.1.avi"
Thanks a lot for the effort of putting these together!
As other said, the second video is linking to the same video as part1. So.. no zbrushing video.
It is nice to hear that this sword looking like Chaos eater from Darksiders. It was my major inspiration. I was inspired by Rodin's Gates of Hell as well (especially relief).
There will be next parts one day, I hope. But more believable that it will be later than sooner.
Someone give this guy some credit! This looks great as I already said!
Super awesome swords ain't really my thang... I hope someone else enjoyed it though... Looks alot like he cheated ... I'm not saying ban but maybe something equal to ban...
Ah, I need to get into Zbrush and do awesome, and find my wacom pen..
Seriously amazing work.
Srlsy? I hope that was a boring joke?
Wut? How did he cheat? There's a fricken video attached that shows how he made it.
Or is this jealousy I feel seeping through those words :d
...also thank you for showing us your design process.
This is with out a doubt some of the best work I've seen on polycount and I think a lot of people would agree. Since I'm so awfully bad at Zbrush this work is more or less considered black magic.
Keep it up!
Just out of idle curiosity, how many verts is the hires sculpt?
1. I suppose you're working in max? Well, when you were making the base model your meshes had always a kind of wireframe box around them, what exactly is this. Is it a kind of lattice or just some visualisation???
2. I saw you were using single posed figures for that sword, but then in ZBrush it looked like they were molten all together to one piece. Did you project them onto another mesh or how did you do that?
Greets, Colt!!!:poly121:
