So.. i had to put together an online portfolio to send off to a few universities i've applied for... this is my portfolio so far, looking for C & C to help me improve it!
What you've got is a pdf file which is hosted on a rather crummy file site that makes me wait 5 seconds before I can download.
Start by doing one of these (or more)
A - getting yourself a domain/host
B - open a carbonmade/flickr/deviantart/improbablyforgettingasite account and upload your work there
C - even hosting it in a public dropbox folder would be better. You'd get an ugly url (for instance http://dl.dropbox.com/u/448525/fifth_release/template.html) But it would load swiftly.
For a quick website I would suggest trying out http://www.wix.com/ . It's a flash site, which some dont like as it can take too long to load but it's free if you don't mind a URL that's not snappy. You can later upgrade with your own domain name.
they have photography wesites which you can edit pretty easily. I revamped my site using wix and it took a weekend. updating before, mucking about with html would take at least a week. with wix it's all drag 'n' drop easy-peasy. I went that way coz it was faster to update my work and looked far more pro than my attempts.
I recommend carbonmade. You can merge multiple project pictures into a single image to conserve bandwidth, and likewise with videos. I'm not going to visit that link you posted.
