hi, I am new to this art gallery you call polycount, now, I need to find out if the source SDK is good for making weapons of TF2. The reason I want to know is, my friend and I are making different weapons to try to get to Valve to get into the store and we are stuck on what to use (preferably free:)) if you have any suggestions tell me, with a comment, or a message, or some other form of communication
add me on steam: daftpunk34 or superZ61

Most asset creation stuff happens through different applications like 3d Studio Max, Maya, Modo,SoftImage, or even Blender (free). You can get several of the other apps for free if you have an .edu email address from http://students.autodesk.com
http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69164 I suggest reading through this massive thread as well. You can see how many Polycounters approached creating their items and feedback they received from the community. There is also a nice amount of technical stuff that's probably buried in there too.
