3D Character/ Environment Maya Generalist Job

The 3D Artist is responsible for working with the design team to produce 3D models and animations primarily for use in games. 3+ years of experience with Maya is a must. Experience with the Unity Game Development Engine, and Flash is a plus. The 3D Artist must be proficient in creating high quality low-poly models and textures for gaming. The 3D Artist will work as part of a team of designers and game developers. All of our projects have strict and sometimes very tight deadlines. Meeting these deadlines requires good collaboration and communication skills. The 3D Artist must be capable of managing project workflow, selecting the appropriate techniques and protocols for optimizing project assets, collaborating with team members, and communicating deadlines and difficulties to the Project Manager and the rest of the team.

Responsibilities:
· Create models, textures and animations optimized for 3D gaming
· Create models, textures and animations optimized for rendered video
· Provide necessary and timely feedback and guidance on deliverables across multiple projects
· Accurately estimate project milestones and deliverable completion dates
· Communicate project status and difficulties with the Project Manager and the team
· Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and produce high quality results


Qualifications:
· Must have at least 3 years production experience.
· Must have an art background with traditional and digital illustration skills.
· Must have solid technical conceptual and design skills.
· Must be proficient in Maya and Photoshop. Knowledge of 3D Studio Max is a bonus.
· Must be comfortable with environment and character design.
· Must be comfortable with shaders/ texturing and creation of source maps.
Character animation/ rigging skills are a bonus


Candidates must have an exceptional, professional level DVD, CD or online demo reel to be considered for an interview.
