The body is hidden at the moment.This is subd level 4.is this an ok start? And how do I pile on more clay if I discover I don't have enough?zbrush is just pushing the clay from my initial zspheres model.

Press Alt as your sculpting or change your brush from ZSub to ZAdd... Its at the top in the middle, around intensity

nah that's not what i need...thanks though.My clay is just being pushed back and forth.The volume stays the same.I made my dragon's legs too short but I can't add clay to elongate it.it just stretches.

That's pretty much the nature of these programs. Your base mesh should have more or less the right amount of 'clay' to begin with, because from there pushing it around is about all you do.
