So I figured its about time I stop being lazy and put together a scene for my portfolio. And what better subject matter to start with then a sci-fi corridor of sorts. It will probably be slow going between school and work, but I figured I'd start the thread as a way to keep me motivated.
For my scene I chose a bit of concept art by Aaron Foster. You can find more of his work at

So far I have done the blockout in UDK, and started working on some of the high poly assets.
Any comments or critique on the blockout so far is much appreciated, as I always have a hard time with proportion and scaling. I had to play with the FOV of the camera a bit to get it looking somewhat correct.

looking good tho!
Blockout is early days, so hard to offer much in the way of critique, so how about some advice?
Don't give up or "get sick of it". Work on it every day and post a new image every day. Just don't stop, and eventually it'll be complete. Then repeat that process with a new project.
ScoobyDoofus - Yeah, I got his permission a while back, but just now started to work on it. Thanks for the advice too, as "getting sick of it" is usually my biggest problem. I hope to complete an asset or two a week after class and work, and try not to push myself too hard with it.
