I dont see any cures for any type of disease where a person is continualy paying for treatment and drugs ever really surfacing anytime soon. there is simply too much fucking money to be made off sick people by drug companies.

But on the flip side, if a rival company develops a cure and patents it, they can get all the patients that are on the treatment and make even more money for years without any competition.
Bush stopped the medical advancement on so many fronts for 8 years.
Yea well don't dust off those beakers just yet. Guess which party just took back congress...
Cool stuff all the same.
We've always been on the road for a cure its just a wild guess when we'll get there.
Ahh wow replace the immune system... I guess that's one way to knock it out. At some point we'll all go in for oil changes to clear out whatever pollutants flow through us and to remove any cancer that might pop up over the year. I forget what bit of fiction that comes from anyone remember? I think the main character grew up on an island that was made from garbage or something...

Basically, the cure requires the patient's immune system to be completely wiped out and replaced. Risky and expensive.

FYI, a bone marrow transplant IS a stem cell transplant. Not sure if you meant to say it wasn't, but just saying. The more you know
