Lead Artist and Art Director Online social/MMO startup!
We are a very young game studio startup building an online Flash-based MMO and looking for an experienced and talented lead artist and art director. We are developing engaging online Flash-based MMO-style gaming worlds aimed young kids, with a unique and innovative strategy.
You would be a seasoned, highly experienced (5-10 years of experience), skilled, and respected artist and art director with a proven record in MMO and other multiplayer online game art. Were looking for somebody to fill our top Art position you would wear several hats in our startup, but your main job would be to direct our artistic vision, manage our art direction as we grow and hire more artists, and create our game art day-to-day.
You should have substantial prior experience in game studios working on multiplayer online game art. Youd help to create a vivid and refreshing visual identity for our games, create game art concepts as well as assets, and assemble and manage a top-quality artistic team. Our games have a strong focus on innovative learning, so youd be able to make a direct and real impact on childrens lives as well!
Our game art will be in 2D but we may have 3D assets as well, so you should be an expert in 2D as well as possess strong 3D knowledge. You should have technical game knowledge as well, as it is essential that you can communicate with our technical and creative people.
Responsibilities:
* Get your hands dirty as our artistic wizard you will be an implementer as well as a manager
* Lead our art vision and direction
* Create concept art and all sorts of art assets as well
*Create a cohesive and distinct visual identity for our game that is appealing to both children and older
* Manage our art teams as we grow
You will bring on board:
* Amazing and proven abilities with 2D and 3D art and industry tools
* 5-10 years of experience and a proven track record in MMOs and multiplayer online games
* BA or higher in Art or equivalent
* Deep game industry knowledge
* Technical game knowledge to link up with our engineers
* Tons of passion for multiplayer games, education (especially for children), and creation of an amazing product
* A performance-driven personality with fast and enthusiastic communication skills
* Friendliness and humor!
