Source SDK Model Viewer problem

Hello. First time poster, long time lurker here. I have a question about the source sdk model viewer. It seems I can't put in a background...

Any help? I've tried looking but it doesn't look like a common situation.

Changing background colour is in the options menu

edit; nevermind misread what you wanted to do. Never used a background texture before. If it's any consolation, my button is grayed out too
