Hay everyone decided to work on an old project and finish it/redo a lot of the parts to make them more accurate to the photo reference, and really just clean everything up as most of the parts were made sloppy.
Some pieces I'm gonna keep but mostly all of them I'm going to redo and this time stick to the reference, especially since i got a hold of some pics of the model when it was being put together so i can see a lot of the smaller pieces much better and how everything hooks together.
This is probably gonna be a long project as ill probably need to stop every now and again to work on different stuff ect.
So anyway to the meat and potato's. it's a Command Geno Saurer from the series Zoids. I'm using the HMM Geno Saurer model kit as a reference.

Old Model so far: (more images can be seen on my website)
So here is a very quick block out of the general size/volume, minus the gun which i will be redoing last as it has the least amount of errors on it.
Any tips/critiques comments, concerns, constructive criticism is more than welcome throughout the process.

want more!
erich- ohh I dont even want to think about baking ATM lol but it will be good practice when i get to that point
outside of the tooth is still messed up, so many lines going through that one place its making it a sharp edge rather than flowing from the top of the head down to the tip of the tooth. Might have to put more geo down there to smooth out the outside its way to much of a sharp angle...
but anyway that's it for tonight just wanted to post an update
Awesome high poly stuff, dude.
Also decided to do a base color test to see how it could come out, Here it is without any post work on it
And please, keep presenting your high detail renders with that exagerated DOF - it just looks so perfect for this !
also i found a nice set of forums where people build them and post pics of the build in process which can help a lot to see the inside stuff that's hard to see in other pics. depending on which liger u want to do there are several builds on those zoids too

Thanks for the info, i was thinking the traditional liger zero at first (the white one) and maybe eventually after that was done, model out the parts for the schnieder etc versions. I'll give this site a browse thou thank you , im almost debating trying to purchase a liger model kit, if i can and its not totally over priced
Though having the actual model kit to work from would be fantastic! i do have a couple of the Gundam models, one that i haven't built yet... but i ultimately decided i wanted to do zoids instead:P But good luck to ya man its really challenging work but so much fun to bring my childhood to life :P
Sadly i doubt ill be able to buy one, the one i found is about 80$ + 30$ shipping to canada on ebay for the HMM kit, and i am currently saving up for a decent/kick ass desktop currently , but for now ill just live vicariously through your thread and progress , and ill try to round up some refs.
and i hear ya purple... they for sure are expensive but ill do my best to keep crankin this out as much as possible
