PolyBeast are looking for a competent 3d character artist to work on an exciting prototype for a beat-em-up game.Project and Aims
PolyBeast is a small, dedicated team of talented individuals with considerable expertise in their respective fields. The aim is to produce a high-quality, very playable prototype consisting of two characters and one environment over the course of the next 6 months with a view to presentation to publishing. The game itself is an innovative beat-em-up title, in a similar lieu to Soul Caliber and other games.
Compensation
The benefit of strong input into a credited, published prototype is the basis for undertaking the project (and hopefully a long-term paid job by the end of it!).
Tools and Technology
Unreal Engine 3, via the Unreal Development Kit (UDK). The game design places a strong emphasis on use of it's animation, particle, material shader and physics capabilities.
The Ideal Candidate
A talented 3d character artist, preferably working with 3dsmax / Maya with a passion for both science fiction / fantasy and games. Previous experience working with games / mods / films not required, but would be preferred.
Experience with Z-Brush / Mudbox or similar packages strongly encouraged due to the detailed nature of the assets. The candidate should understand the needs of rigging but will not be required to rig or animate. The mesh will require standard texture maps, specifically a minimum of diffuse, specular, normal and emissive (glow).
PolyBeast
PolyBeast is a small development team working online. This project presently consists of two concept artists, a programmer and a rigger / animator. Adding an excellent 3d character artist will be all that's needed to get the prototype off the ground and moving with steady pace.
