man! thats a rad design! I am weary on the diffuse, cause it;'s looking pretty hand painted. Like Borderlands. If thats the design you were going for, you knocked it out of the park, but if you are going for more realistic, I feel like you may need to work on the diffuse a bit more.
Design-wise, the only glaring problem I see is the weak frame. It wouldn't be a problem when the barrel was latched close, but I can imagine that bit between the cylinder and trigger guard breaking after swinging open the action a few times. Combine this with the fact that top breaks are weaker than swing-out types, and you have a recipe for disaster.
It also looks a bit front-heavy, but that hardly matters compared to the other thing.

But the defuse is almost the same as the specular and that makes the weapon look very bland. You need to define the material more for example by making it darker in some spots and setting highlights.

I agree with the comments above. Right now the gun looks pretty dull as far as textures go. I think the metal parts of the gun arent metallic looking enough. As far as I can see that would just be your spec. The rework on your diffuse looks better. Try and increase the spec level on the metal parts and play around with the contrast? See where that gets you.
Apart from these minor tweaks it's looking pretty nice. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks everyone for the crits I have messed around a little more with the spec map added in some subtle color variation and highlights let me know what you think. I have been staring at it too long to be objective at this point. Thank you all for the help!
That's bad ass man. You should throw a little bit of color in the spec for the metal, I've always found that can help it pop a little better. That's a sweet design though man.
Wow! Each time you post, your improvement is exponential!! I think that spec map is looking great and is giving your gun the awesome metallic feel you're going for. Good job!

I think may be the metal could be a bit more specular but over all I like the gun
