A different form of art.
Hey everyone.
So I know this isn't game art. Or tech art. Or something that is commonly thought of as art. But I thought I would share it anyway.
As some of you know, when I'm not on my computer, I'm mountain biking. I actually race. Anyway, an biking video came out today and lets just say it is pretty amazing. I personally think that even if you don't care for biking, you can at least admire a beauty that is in this video. Every shot is a work of art.

And the content is just so sick. I remember seeing another video of his (Band of Horses 'Funeral' was the soundtrack) and it never ceases to amaze me what this guy and others like him can do with their bodies and bikes.

Yeah that's the video. 21 million hits. After that Redbull decided to pick him up. And of course redbull always goes big. So were the ones that made this video happen.
Not to go on a random tangent. But RedBull is a pretty amazing company. Dare I say the Walmart of extreme sports. I mean you think about it they make a drink that really doesn't help you... but invented the "helmet" sponsorship. And somehow they made a shit ton of money off it.

That first video is very well shot, its nice seeing something that isn't a rush job by a kid following someone with a camera.
Yeah the collective actually changed their name. They are Ant Hill Films now. You should check out their newest film called Follow Me.

Oh, as a side question - I watched the video without sound (no sound card at work) so I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the video, but do we have the names of the locations he was at? There's some environments there I desperately want to look up for reference.

I just bought my sister's bike off her.... (No its not pink with tassles on the handles). Its a custom Downhill uber monster. And I got it at knock down price. Cant wait to get out on it. Its been about 10 years since I used to do it proper.

I'm just going to say that it makes that "Way Back Home" video look like what ZacD was talking about. "a rush job by a kid following someone with a camera." It is Planet Earth meets mountain biking. Honestly if you have time and $9 for the HD version... I would highly recommend it.

marks: I would say that dirt jumping is the mid point between the two. Idk. I like mountain biking because I like to go fast and be creative.
So I'm gonna necro this thread, saw Life Cycles a few weeks ago. and WOW, cinematographicly it is simply perfect. It's absolutely beautifull to watch from start to end.
As an artist, you should just watch it. never mind if you don't care about mountainbikes, the images, the music, everything is just a pure work of art!

How did I not break my neck? Hmm not sure. We were taking it pretty easy too as it was only the second run down it so didn't really know what was comming next. That was in the French Alps.
