Hi everyone! We're currently recruiting a programmer to work on DoubleX!
The concept
Core concept: The game is first person two player co-op game. The two players are marooned in a city, and will need to traverse the dangers of the abandoned city and discover a way to escape it.
Each player can see specific colour enemies/items (for example; red player can see red enemies, blue player can see blue enemies). However they cannot harm the enemies or interact with the items that are visible to them. They must tag the enemy/item to make it visible to the other player who can then kill the enemies or interact with the item.
The catch is only one can escape alive. Will you double cross your partner as soon as possible and brave the city on your own or will you work together and risk being double crossed yourself.
Game Engine: UDK
What we can offer you!
We currently have a team of 3 people including myself and we are all passionate about games and game design and hope to be able to have a career in the industry.
We have a wealth of experience in Maya, UDK and Photoshop. We also have experience in graphics and web design for promotional purposes.
Currently this a student game although we hope this project can eventually become a full game however we do realise this is a huge task! At the very least we aim to all get professional level portfolio pieces from this project. Unfortunately because this is a student project the position is non-paid.
We have a prototype in UDK with two players networked and a game play mechanic put together using Kismet, but we have reached a point where we need to be able to code to create the mechanics we want in our game. That's where you come in!
What we're looking for
We're looking for a programmer to work with Uscript (if you're not experienced in Uscript please still get in touch! Although a general knowledge of another scripting language is crucial.) We're not looking for someone to work on this project 9-5 although we do require you take the project seriously. If you want to put what you know to the test in a professional environment and come out with some top quality work for your portfolio this would be great opportunity!
If you're interested in the position please send us an email giving us a quick idea of what your capable of and contact information so we can get together and have a chat! (Skype, MSN etc. are fine! Location is not a problem!)
