So, here is what I have come up with for editing my vertex normals. I am not sure how to go about doing it but I have transfered the normal info from a sphere onto the leaves and I am able to move the sphere and the VN's of the leaves will react. Not sure what to do from here to make it look good. Any help would be great.

I am also working on the new wall texture and I am going to try to create modular pieces like S2Engine suggested.
Make the sphere bigger, so that it covers the leafs. Doesn't make make any sense otherwise.. And from your first screen grab i can tell that you haven't deleted the history of the leafs. The "Transfer attribute" is active until you delete the history.. Same goes with vertex position and what not (:
When i did some trees for a scene i'm doing (really need get back on it >.<) i used a transmission mask on the leafs.. REALLY improved them.. That is if you are using lighmass.. search for "transmission mask" in here.. and you can read some more on it..

Interesting... What 3d app is that? Doesn't look like max. If its max, how do u transfer those normals from object to object?
Look at your reference more... Your sense of scale is WAY OFF in your surrounding village building. Those rocks are way to big and don't look realistic. You have too much banding in your tiling trim textures. Your sky box does not reflect your lighting, change one.

I hope this helps
thanks a lot for info.
