UDK Terrain error, crazy pattern issue

Hey all,

Anyone know what causes this in UDK? It's just terrain with 4 terrain material setups, and when I try and paint one material on another, this happens;

Also, I know this isn't P&P, but it doesn't really warrant it's own thread yet. How're these terrain textures looking? The cobblestone was created just using the standard sculpt>instance>bake workflow.

    It looks like you have too many texture samples. How many textures do you have in each terrain layer?

    Your materials are probably too complex. Can you post some screens of your material setups? You want to limit your materials to as little instructions as possible.

    Thanks guys. Yep that sorted it, my materials were both overly complex and utilizing too many texture samples. The idea was to incorporate more variation in the material so less variation would need to be painted by hand on the terrain. Splitting it into more materials with fewer instructions sorted it.
