Well currently getting ready to texture a 3d model in Maya, and I pulled up a 3d model which had several problems, so I decided to retopo most of the head to make it look more consistant and more importantly symmetrical. what I was wondering was.If there was able to be a quick fix to make your uv's identical on both sides quickly instead of moving the points one by one. All my sperate parts are all symetrical but the uv's arn't so hopefully you guys could help me out. (also i tried using the relax and unfold but the uv's still don't look consistent)
example of my problems:

Thanks as always!

- Select all the uvs down the middle axis of whichever shell, then align the uvs left or right (once they are straight).
- Then use the unfold command and set the unfold constraints to vertical, so it sorts out any stretching issues on those UVs.
- Then select the other verts of that shell and do another unfold but this time with no constraints.
- Repeat for the other shells.
If your model is symmetrical, this should get the uv shells symmetrical. If you are really OCD, delete half the model then mirror it and weld the shells and you will be sure it's perfectly symmetrical.
