We are now looking for an experienced Studio Manager / Artist Talent Manager. Youll be instrumental in developing the careers of the freelance artists that we work with, so youll need a real empathy with all our talent and a passion for seeing people progress with us.
You will become the face of Nexus in the 3D, 2D, VFX, post-production and interactive artist community, having responsibility for raising and maintaining Nexus profile on key industry websites, forums and events. Youll be entrepreneurial in spirit, proactively seeking out new digital and interactive artists and techniques, and identifying and championing their potential commercial application. Working closely with our artistic and technical leads, youll ensure the physical and technical resources in the studio are always ahead of production and crew needs.
The role will include -
§ being the primary point of contact for new artist talent, proactively sourcing high calibre freelance animation artists and designers, and devising new ways to attract and retain the best talent. § overall studio scheduling responsibility, working with producers / PMs to ensure effective co-ordination of crew and resources across concurrent projects. § building our base of web / digital designers and developers § being the key person for all freelance talent, ensuring that their time runs smoothly, overseeing inductions, crew payments, project-to-project moves, anticipating IT requirements and sharing information on procedures and events at Nexus.
Youll need -
§ substantial experience in a similar role in multi-project animation/games studio, post-production house or digital agency. § in-depth knowledge of animation and post-production pipelines, and a good grounding in digital production. § the drive to ensure the studio develops creatively and commercially over time and a deep-seated enthusiasm for emerging technologies and platforms. § fantastic people skills and be proactive, outgoing and inventive in how you further the reputation of the studio and the work of all our artists. § demanding creative judgement, with experience of picking out the best artistic talent. § exacting attention to detail and an incredibly thorough approach to your work.
