Best music subscription site?

There's mostly 3 things I'm looking for

Less than $15 a month

You get 10 songs "to keep" a month (10 drm free songs you own forever)

a wide variety of obscure music.


Right now I'm kinda looking at the zune pass, its $12.50 a month if you get the year.

I don't know of anything off hand that's exactly what you're asking for, but Grooveshark.com is my new go-to for music. It's similar to Pandora in that you can use it as internet radio but you can also simply build playlists out of their huge collection of songs and save them. That's all free. As far as I know though, there's no songs to keep.

Yep, that's the Zune Pass alright and its awesome. Been using it for about a year now, and I probably wont stop. Usually I'll download cds/bands I know, start up a Smart DJ list and it will find similar music to that, that I end up downloading/keeping too. Just remember to use your credits THE DAY BEFORE THE NEW SUBSCRIBTION MONTH, or your credits will go away.

I know a couple of guys who work at Rdio, they always seem to brag about how large their music library is compared to Pandora. I think are somewhat similar to Grooveshark.

I'm looking for a good one myself too. I just canceled my Napster account because the site layout is pretty much horrid and songs often simply refuse to play. If you do pick up Zune let us know how it goes

I use Spotify but its not in the states yet, when it comes to the states it will be a staple.

I really enjoy Rdio! Some cool features too like being able to sync your current iTunes library w/ it so you're collection is ready to go online!

I am a huge fan of the Pandora One account thing. 35 bucks for unlimited listening, higher quality, a nice lite weight player if I dont need to have the internet open. The great way it discovers artists I would have never thought of based off what I like. Honestly has helped me find most of the artists I extremely like nowadays. It also has a ton of info on the artists playing and depenging on how you rate a song if you like it or not more or less artists of that type will be played.

Obviously you cant DL the songs or select a certain song to listen to but meh I already get so sick of the 3k songs I have on my ipod its nice to keep getting new ones. Plus you can buy individual songs for like 99cents or something.

Just thought I would throw that out there as 35 dollars for the year plus 10songs at 99cents would be around 15dollars a month anyway.

I use Emusic. They don't have a lot of mainstream stuff, but I've been able to find a lot of what I'm looking for. The plan I'm on comes out to about $0.45 per song

I was an emusic subscriber for a long time. Great service with some great music. I believe they have a 2week/50 song download free trial, or something along those lines. Definitely check it out for the free downloads.
