Help with Wacom Tablet

I own an old Wacom Graphire 4 and I dunno why but I get a weird lag when drawing and painting in photoshop or moving vertices in Maya. I draw a line and it takes almost a second or so to actually see it on screen. The same goes with vertices in Maya.

what can that be?

can't speak for the maya lag - but I get it in ps when I use my laptop with larger files (not enough ram I imagine) What are your hardware specs?

I have Graphire4 too, and it never give me any problem since the first time I got it, it's like 2 or 3 years back (except for the annoying pen grip)..
Driver problem maybe?..or did you disable the windows build in tablet driver already? it gives you nothing but a problem.

I know absolutely nothing about macs - or how much ram the OS eats up...
But I would test -
create a small document in PS (no other programs open) and see if it lags (no layers either).
If it doesn't - then its probably hardware related. If it does then it could be a driver as mentioned or something else?
