Hi Polycount, I am, at the moment, working at a little 3D animation for a guy (for free). He doesn't know anything about animation, editing, or anything really... he says "I'm a jock tbqh". I have to ask 1000 questions every time I work on this, since he didn't make a storyboard (didn't know what it was) or even give me clues to colors or lighting or anything. (it gets annoying...)
Anyways.. I am very near completion and I was wondering if someone here could help me render the scene? I'm asking this because my laptop cannot handle this, it can barely handle 20k polygons on the screen at once. Also I wouldn't mind seeing how pro's do things while using the same, or similar (tweaked) setup.
It's a 3DS MAX file, using the mental ray rendering software. It's quite small, around 500-700 frames.
I would also love it if the person who accepts this could help me with some tips? By that I mean, better rendering while cutting down the rendering time, and a better lighting feel (and setup). At the moment it's similar to a studio type setup. (which is what I'm going for).
Thank you for reading, I hope you respond to my request. I am putting this thread up now, so that when I complete the video I will have someone to help me (hope).

If I tell Mental Ray to only allocate like 200mb of memory, that will make my render time slower, but keep my PC cooler?
