Nice stuff man! the gatling gun is coming along. Kinda dark at the moment, but your overall model looks good. and can you make some nice reflections on the helmet?
I know that one is kinda old.. but its simple and effective... and it doesn't look flat. keep up the good work man.
Hey thanks glottis8! I just might be able to do that! and I also just realized something else... I totally forgot to add my reference images along with my sheets... I will have to update this again tomorrow with those added.
Alrighty! here is my new piece Im working on that I started yesterday on. Im creating whats a customized Jeep called the Brute(jeep truck body kit). Going to grunge it up some, give it some dents later on.
OK, 22 hours in now... still have a lot to do. Trying to keep this under 40 hours. changing out the front bumper with another one... not liking this one. Pretty happy where im at so far! building everything off of reference and mixing it up as Jeeps are awesome that way. Also planning on finishing up my mini gun for sure and having it mounted in the bed facing forward. Will be a zombie killing machine!
Well I am back to working on this piece as it is the weekend! I don't get a chance to work during the week days as I have work during the day till 6 and then I work with my dad for a project he is working on. So I got all day tomorrow to work on this and hopefully next weekend will get this high poly finished up.
May not look like a ton of worked finished today. But I cleaned up a lot. did some detail work. started to close in the main cab area. fixed my tires making them into floaters(thanks Brett/Spark)
thanks guys! I really hope to pull this jeep truck off in the end. Im enjoying it a lot as its a much bigger challenge for me. As well the texture work will be Im sure!
Thank Raul! Well here is another update yall. Also showing off some new additions that will be going into the piece. Also showing off where I'll be mounting the mini gun as well the type of mount it will be on. Enjoy!
Thanks guys, yeah the other shifter will be a billiard ball. And yes! going to be all kinds of fun stuff when all is said and done! But I am open to suggestions and ideas of things on the dash board. like a bobble head of some kind and what not. But more of a reason why this thing will take a while to actually finish.. so many little props to make for it that I don't want to get sloppy with.
On the jeep you should consider redoing your tires. I just haven't ever seen a tire constructed that way and your floating geo for the treads looks a little strange.
The common method is to model one tile of the tread pattern with the side wall and then tile it and bend it into a tire.
I would take it a step further and model the orginal tread segment in such a way that you can sub-d the final result since it will bake better that way.
Nice work so far! I have a (almost) finished model of a modified jeep myself. You might want to check your curvature. A lot of the pieces look flat, but aren't so in real life. Specifically the grill and fenders. I owned the same model for many years so I have these curves burned into my brain
AlecMoody - hey thanks! I actually tried that technique the first time around and then was told by Spark/Brett to make floaters for the tire pieces for something like this. But I am going to redo the tires anyways cause I have the pieces to far apart right now and doesn't look like the reference. Thanks though!
HitmonInfinity - thanks dude! that inspired me! can I see your wires for this piece? really great job!
Xoliul - will do man thanks! I love your work by the way!
n88tr - yeah the mini gun is actually just under 3 feet long in real life if you check out the specs for one, not as big as one would think. really small but tons of damage! I'm sure once I get the mount on there that it will stand a bit higher where when someone standing up in the bed would be able to shoot from it very nicely. Thanks for the comment!

Heres a link to a good tutorial on that method:

Here's a render of my old model:

gun on top looks small and sort of oddly-placed
that piece has most potential imo but least finished.
guitar looks awesome, reminds me of Mops
