I want to lern more about types of mapping and i heard that in Polycount are the best

Im used to use Diffuse, Transparency, Normal map and a little bit of Specular but i heard in other sites about "Gloss map" and "TM" map!?
I don't know what's "TM" any of you guy know what mean "TM" map ? maybe Transparency Map ?
and about Gloss map i found this in the Net. [It's not my model]

Where from the top-left is Diffuse, Specular, Normal Map and Gloss Map.
In Maya, where i suppose to link the Gloss Map to the shading ?

Now other of my question is how to know what color use in specular map? en the case of this sofa is like blue/green
