Hey guys. I would appreciate any creative input regarding my reel. A bit of a back story about me. I used to work at Icarus Studios, and a few months ago the company went through a huge 'restructuring' phase, leaving me jobless. I've sent out dozens of applications and after a few weeks I noticed no significant replies, if any. Henceforth I set out to replace a majority of the stuff on my old reel with newer and more complex (at least from my previous reel) animations.
I feel comfortable enough to say that I will continue to work on more stuff, and will most likely have to replace the lip sync and the walk cycle.
I am currently looking for jobs to continue my game industry career, however I have been open for commercial/vfx stuff as well. I would like to hear your input regarding what could be added/replaced to make it stand out more.

I also agree about axing the lip sync and the walk cycle. Definitely weaker pieces.
My general advice for your animations are... I think everything needs to be pushed more. I found that with most of the animations, they all seemed a little too soft. I don't think the problem is that there is not enough weight, but that might be a factor. It might also be that your key poses aren't strong enough action poses. When a character does a strong move, be it open a closing door, fire a gun, etc, I feel that when they're putting forth the most effort, those areas should be exaggerated. A bit more kick to some of these pieces could really add a lot.
Also, I think the reel is quite a bit longer than it needs to be. It'd probably be fine closer to 1 minute, of just your strongest, best stuff. It started to feel a bit boring by the end.
Hope these comments help, and good luck finding another job soon!!
