In "The Sacrifice" for Left 4 Dead, gamers receive the complete Sacrifice campaign with maps playable in Campaign, Versus, and Survival. There are 5 new achievements, a new style finale and plenty of places for devastating Hunter pounces.

For Left 4 Dead 2, gamers receive “The Sacrifice” campaign and L4D1’s “No Mercy” both playable with the L4D1 Survivors. This version also offers 5 new achievements. In the L4D2 version of “The Sacrifice” each campaign is playable in Campaign, Versus, Survival, and Scavenge modes, and both "The Sacrifice" and L4D2 version of No Mercy feature the Left 4 Dead 2 Special Infected, items, and weapons. Yes, Zoey with a chainsaw!

As an aside.

Curious as to reaction of this from l4d1 owners who don't have l4d2 with l4d2 getting access to the l4d1 characters. I would have had no qualms being unable to play those characters since I didn't purchase l4d1.

Oh any mods wanted on the PC server before then? Pounce Talk is on and people cant vote spam. Thats about it.

    Having the original survivors and No Mercy in L4D2 makes me immensely happy.

    The new survivors didn't appeal to me and the campaigns don't has as much atmosphere as the night time ones from l4d1. I still played more hours of l4D2 according to steam anyway.. Can't wait to play this new campaign!:)

    Ugh, I have no idea how to balance my time between this, TF2, Minecraft and Dead Rising 2. Not to mention Castlevania in a couple days. Oh yeah, and that art stuff too.:poly122:

    Other than Rochelle's laugh (and voice spammers who use it too much to taunt). She's decent. Coach takes the cake though.

    To paraphrase:
    "I'm so hungry, I'm going to wrap up a pizza and eat it like a sub"

    Everybody knows Valve set out to make a game called "Nick and the three assholes survive the apocalypse" but accidentally made Ellis the funniest of the bunch. Coach gets a free pass for looking like Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince. Rochelle however, has all the personality of dishwater and every time she speaks about her profession it feels more like somebody going "....REPORTER! That's it!...I'm a reporter." All the Depeche Mode T-shirts in the world aren't enough to make her likable.

    And i hundreth the opinion of Rochelle being the worst of the bunch. Here's the current list!

    Looking forward to the DLC. The new Taaaank! mutation sounds fun and the new finale type using multiple generators could be interesting.

    Is this free DLC? I can't find it in the store anywhere. Just bought L4D2 for $6.79 though, so I guess I'll be trying it out. Read the article on how they did the dismemberment / gore, seemed pretty cool.

    All of the DLC Valve has released over the past 6 years has been free on Computer. It'll automatically download like an update/patch for the game.

    Right, I think the term 'DLC' throws me off. Yes, I know what it stands for. Just seems to go hand-in-hand with marketing & micro-transactions. I guess you can't really call all-new content a patch, though, so that's cool.

    Just finished a run through the campaign on Co-op. After all the brouhaha, the ending strikes me as kind of anticlimactic.

    Still it's a solid bunch of maps with plenty of fun possibilities for Versus.

    Anyone still playing L4D2 regularly? Any Europeans up for some regularly-scheduled game nights?

    I've been trying to work my way through the campaigns on Expert for weeks, and so far I've only managed to finish Dead Center, and that was with bots. I'm sick of trying to coordinate decent players at random, as the whole idea of teamwork seems to have fallen out of fashion. Every group seems worse than the last.

    Anyone up for it?

    didn't see any other l4d2 threads. Anyone still playing it? after a lot of playing the game when it came out, i dropped the game, but i decided to play some more. Some of their community custom maps are pretty awesome. really fun to play, and some have unique content that is very pretty. Anyone still playing this? any maps i should check out?

    I hope valve incorporates the workshop to L4D. I think that would be even better. I am thinking about making a map after this game i am working on is done and i have some free time in the mornings.

    I idiotically bought L4D2 on our german steam, and it's been blood-censored to unplayability, so I don't.. and nobody plays L4D1 anymore (where I bought the key elsewhere) ;-/

    I play L4D2 versus regularly but I have some exams this month so I uninstalled it. I'll reinstall it in mid-August. I added you, I should appear as EmAr or something similar.

    Sad to hear the censor thing cptSwing, that would really take away a lot from this game :/

    yea.. that really sucks... its one of things that i enjoy about the game. If they can get something like the gore system and limb detachment from L4D2 into Day Z. that game would be even better.

    So is there maybe a mod you can add that has the game uncensored?

    i used to play them every night with a bnuch of freinds, but we all kinda got busy and stopped, wouldnt mind getting back to it, since it is a really fun game when playing with the same people over and over again.

    Just combine Left4dead and Day Z and I'd die happy. Open world game with other people, game play perks to encourage staying together, vehicles, hunting for resources, etc etc.

    i still play l4d2 regularily. Used to be really into vs. mode but got tired of rage quitters so now i usually just play a round or two of campaign mode at night. still an amazing game

    FWIW The Polycount server is still active. Should have support for pro-mod. If your in the Polycount steam group it should be listed in your game.
