I am super excited to finally get to say that I just recently accepted my offer to become the new full time environment artist over at Naughty Dog

Beyond happy and excited about this new opportunity. I also think I consumed three times the healthy limit of Gatorade and Monster while working on their crazy art test but it seems to all have paid off in the end. I might need to get new kidneys though. Still, couldn't be more excited about joining the great team and working on their future projects.
Had an amazing time working on Halo Reach while at Bungie with the fantastic team over there. Some truly amazingly talented guys and just all around coolest bunch of people. Sad to go but my contract was up and there next project was just to far off to be economically viable to keep me on.
Even though Naughty Dog uses Maya (gross!) I cant wait to start in a few weeks.

Any chance we can see the work you did on the art test?
Naughty Dog have really raised the bar in my opinion. Uncharted 1/2 blew my mind and every time I watch the behind the scenes stuff they put on the game discs, I envision it to be like the game industry heaven. Every department seems to be filled with the best of the best and their work cements that fact.
All the best!
Now submit to Maya.
She is your master now.
well he doesn't like so maybe just send him my grettings ^^
Awesome sauce mate!
As for the art test since they still use the test as part of there testing process I am afraid I will not be able to show it. I am not sure if they are still interviewing people for more open envio positions or not but if they are I dont think it would be wise to be showing around what I did. Also no test is ever perfect and I know mine isnt. Also seeing a test that passed might inadvertently make you try to copy some elements as you think hey this one got this person the job which may or may not hurt you in the end.
Plus making a technically and artistically well done scene is only half of the test its self. It is a very very long test though. But once I find out they are no longer using the same test or if they dont care I would be more then happy to share it with you guys.
And I know maya isnt that bad, but I want my modifier stack and shift drag box modeling
"It's missing something... I can't put my finger on it"
"Just pour a little Autocon on it."
"Brilliant!"
And don't forget to pick up NEX! I can't use Maya without it.
CONGRATS!
What do you feel was the hardest psychological part of the hiring process?
