Sweet alliteration.
Hey, would it be completely weird if I were interested in meeting some awesome 3d killaaas irl?
Are any of you located in Portland, OR?
I know this thread is pretty damn old, but I'm a Portland. Any other Portland Polycounters out there? Would love to go out for a brew and chat sometime.
It's a great city. I'm looking to move in the next year or so for work's sake. Not enough game work. Liquid Development is the biggest; and they do asset work for major companies.
My brother lives right over there! I had no idea the folks at Liquid were on here much. I only know a few guys in the studio. Also, amazing work on your site!
Quite... you'll anger the sky gods and they'll peel back their grey blankets and try to kill everyone with their giant ball of golden death rays... I saw it once... People instantly vaporized... and by vaporized I mean so blinded they ran for shelter, developed skin cancer and where never heard from again....OOoooOooooo....
I'm a broke ass soon-to-be college graduate. Once I work enough in the area, I'm moving to a place where the sun shines, every studio gives me 30k tri limits, and I get to use 4k texture sheets for everything.
Preach it! The hipster army is on the move. Their loafers (without socks) beating against the cement as they declare a great Arcade Fire against the city. Beating their vnecked chests proudly as they shout about obscure art and music.
Clearly we all have much love for this place. We gotta snag a beer sometime and bitch about it in person.
I've lived in Portland/Northwest all my life and I think people here are pretty cool and I love the variety of weather here. We wouldn't have the nice days without the rainy days to make us appreciate them that much more.
Portland is not for everyone, but there is a lot to do here and a lot of great people to meet if you have an open mind about things. Every place has it's good and bad. It's definitely not good to focus on the bad alone.
It's pretty true. I want to move big time, and I know I'm coming across like I hate it here. I definitely just have my pet peeves. Guys like Fink make this place a blast and there's a ton of talent in the area. So I do have to apologize for helping turn this into a bitchfest. Thanks for the post mate.
Fink DEFINETLY agree with you its a state of mind...but I really think my mind has been chemically altered due to the lack of sun and faster pace of life I use to live...cant wait to get up and go more back east again. This place is to slow for me.
