Tera's ArtPass (Team Fortress 2 Mapping Contest)

Hey there guys! I'm sure that if you're ever interested in the TF2 design universe, you'll have heard of the Art Pass Contest! For those who don't know, it's a contest in which VALVe (the creators of TF2) gave the source file of a map which wasn't brought trough the detailing stage (the so called Art Pass :)) and gave the competitors the task to do it. I decided to enter. I've never been 100% sure about the theme I would follow troughout the whole contest. I always like to decide things on the moment, it's a lot more fun than planning.

Feel free to test the map on your servers! And please, if you do, please add me on Steam (terabytest) and invite me to the game!

The pictures had to be removed because they were generating too much traffic. Please use the gallery instead.

    Great job, looks awesome. You can't tell it wasn't done by Valve themselves.

    I can't remember if it was a part of the contest you could change or not but the only point I'd like to raise is that the lighting feels a bit washed out in places, like there are few hard shadow, darker areas, contrasting light etc. it's mostly all the same uniform light brown light with very soft shadows.

    And on a completely unrelated note, I read the thread title repeatedly yet I was still convinced it said "Tera's Ass Part" :poly142:

    I've tested many lighting styles really, but this one was the best I had found. It is derived from thundermountain's lighting.

    Ah okay. But yeah the lighting is only a small thing, the rest is great. I haven't seen any of the other Art Pass entries but I hope yours does well!
