I have my character in my environment and my character is the only thing casting shadows. up close all the shadows are casting on him fine, if i move back just a few feet the shadows start to fade away on him? sorry, i'm still new to a lot of unreal and i figured i'd finally ask how to keep this from happening.

The only thing I came with before I stopped using UDK was this :
* in UDKEngine.ini, ShadowFadeResolution=0 will force shadow to never fade. (however it will still LOD)
You stopped using udk? why come?
