Let's get to it.
The level will be in a german renaissance-esque castle during a eldricht creauture breakout. There will be a nocturn ambiance and statures crying ichor. You get the picture.
By the tall windows, you'll be able to see a garden and other buildings while in the foreground I'll make candle holders, statures, vases and other decorations appear. I hesitated to place the camera at a low angle, but these elements of environment would have obscured what was going on in the mid ground, and therefore lower the visibility, which isn't what I'm aiming at.
So, here's a scribble of my plans for the level.
And my work so far.
As for challenge, finishing it will already be challenging, but if I have time I'll try a bit of sculpt, which I don't really know yet. I'll try and reuse as many assets as possible, making the scene rather heavy in decorations.
And since I'm learning how to use UDK, this is what I use to finish the job.
