The little arrow gizmo that pops up when you turn on "Affect Pivot Only" in Max has vanished. If I start a new file and create a cube, it's there, so it's something I toggled off somehow.
Does it do that when you create a cube in that scene or does it just disappear on the object you're working on right now?
If its just that object you could probably click center to object with affect pivot only turned on. OR you could create a cube, attach your mesh and delete the cube. OR you could merge your object into a new scene file.
Actually I just found out what it was and I feel stupid for it (as I have every other time I've done this and didn't figure it out sooner). I created a cube to test your suggestions and noticed the gizmo was visible in other viewports. That's when I realized my Perspective viewport was disabled.
Thanks for the help Vig, even though it didn't work exactly how it was intended :P
