3ds max 2011 shortcut keys don't work

I recently reformatted my computer and installed Windows 7 for the first time. I then installed 3ds max 2011 and got back to work without any problems. I would set my own keyboard shortcuts and they would work fine, but a couple of days ago they just stopped working. Not just my custom shortcuts, ALL of them. It gets really frustrating not having shortcuts while uv mapping. I've tried reinstalling, but I don't think it's being completely removed from my computer because they still don't work.

Any solutions? How would I go about getting rid of any trace of this software on my computer?

Have you tried the Shortcut Override Toggle? If that doesn't work, delete the 3dsmax.ini...it is hidden somewhere in Application Data and is not deleted when un-/reinstalling Max.

The override toggle seems to have done it. Why the hell do they put that button there?
