Old games, new related games

I just got a newsletter where I could get the good old Master of Orion 2 for a bargain and I really felt the urge to get it, remembering how great it was and I was wondering if there were any other, more new, games out there which is the same.
For me some of the games I would love to play but modern versions (and it should be like the ones listed, not some of the sequels):
- Master of Orion 2
- Ascendancy
- Baldur's Gate
- System Shock 2
- Deus Ex (Lets see how the new one turns out)
- X-Com 1+2 (FU so far to the new so-called XCom)
- Syndicate
- Dungeon Keeper
- Ultima (and Ultima Underworld)
- Frontier: Elite 2
- Planescape: Torment

Apart from that, I would love to see a new Cannon Fodder game; I've spent so much time playing it on Amiga when I was a kid.

I actually bought that game! It's the worst thing to happen to giant robot fighting; I refuse to acknowledge it.

Oh man, apart from a couple I haven't played, those are SO on my top list of best games ever. Damn I miss those, though I have played SS2 many times since
Heroquest.
Lords of Midnight, and Doomdarks Revenge.
i played both of those with my dad on a spectrum zx, when i was like... 6
it's not even multiplayer. thus lost 3/4 of the awesomeness of the origional
