Whilst eagerly waiting for my GT5 fix (Nov 3), I randomly checked out Colin McRae: Dirt 2.
I'm very much into my racing games, and I truly believed GT5 would be the pinnacle of this, if GT Prologue was anything to go by.
But after spending a few minutes with Colin McRae: Dirt 2, I realised how wrong I was!
To anyone who worked on this title: Thank you!
The realtime outdoors + trailer interface is nothing short of incredible!
Also the scenery makes other games look like they are made out of coloured-in cornflakes boxes.
Going back to GT Prologue after an hour or so of Dirt2 is like waiting at the dentist!

Also I hear the GT5 Demo is out in american retailers. Show an improved damaged system http://www.gtplanet.net/
Miss the old style McRae games, were the road is 1 1/2 car widths wide. Tracks these days are so wide. Although it's still fun to blaze at +250km/h on gravel in dirt2
Dirt 3 is next up before another Grid - the tracks I saw being produced looked stunning.
The environments/ car artists didn't leave many resources for us lowly character guys on that one!
I bought Dirt2 not long ago on Steam, when they had a 40% off deal or something. Really amazing game, certainly the best rally game I've ever played. It's arcadey as all hell, which takes some getting used to coming from Forza and GT physics, but it's damn FUN and that's what matters.
