BEAT-EM-UP! | TootingChicken

"Brighton Beach Front Brawl"

OK, so I've been watching this challenge develop over the past week or so & I've been really inspired by some of the amazing stuff that's already being created on here. I know I'm a bit late starting :\ but work commitments have held me up...

My idea's simple enough - I'm using the town I live in as inspiration. It's an old British Victorian sea-side resort with vintage buildings nestled next to grey 60's tower blocks. It's also got some really iconic structures: like a pier, a pavillion & a fun fair. :poly124: At this stage I realise that my chances of finishing all this are small, but so long as I (finally) get to have a stab at some environment modelling & get to produce a few of the structures I mentioned then I'll consider this a personal success (oh, and if I can my head round Unreal Engine I'll even do a celebratory dance)!

Oh Yeah!

Anyway, here's my inspiration boards (they show some of the old ornate structures that lie around the town)...just gotta figure out how to link everything together now! And decide on a style. Gulp! :)

Cheers guys,

Toot.

P.S. It's also known for a brawl 'way-back-when' between two rival gangs: "the Mods" and "the Rockers" - so there's my ready-made beat-em-up back story anyway!!!

Images are borked =/. Think its something to do with hosting them on dropbox.

Sounds like you live in a super nice area! Good luck on this one.

Gogogo! Although some other entries are very well underway (which can be motivating and inspiring ( but maybe sometimes demotivating considering the distance they've already travelled) but there still should be time to make an entry, just keep it up!

Darnage, they were appearing OK for me (even on work PC). :shifty: I've linked to photobucket now, so hopefully that'll sort it!

So, off to try and get a sketch of the level layout done now, with a view to some blocking out in 3D tomorrow. Go Go Go!

    Oh, and thanks guys!
