I'm box mapping a building, but when i do it breaks all the uvw verts. Is there a way i can keep all the verts that are connected to each other wielded together, so i just have a bunch of large island elements?

Box mapping has its uses, but is more of a hindrance more often than not. Sometimes it makes a good starting point. A better way of doing it is to add a unwrap UVW modifer to your building.

when in your unwrap UVW Modifier, select the faces you want to be on one plane of the box, in your map parameters roll out, select the plane you want the planer map to be mapped in (x,y,z) then click planer. Thats assuming your building is still aligned to these planes. It may take a little longer, but is worth the results.

With box mapping, it will break some of the verts, you jsut have to go back in and weld those together.

Also Box Mapping overlaps the UV Shells...each side of the Box uses the complete UV Tile...if you just slap tileable textures on the building, it might work, but if you want a unique texture, you will need to use the Unwrap UVW Modifier.
