I' m actually working on a level for the UE3 with the UDK.
(I have begin this project 3 weeks ago.)
I have call this project "Escape" because the player must find objects and resolved enigma to escape the place where he is.
I want to make a real little game, but the UE3 is not so easy and I will try to work on this as far as possible.
I have made a little map.
And some assets.
I hope you like it and learn more other things with your answer.

I try to reduce and simplify the mesh but it's hard.

What are you thinking about this ? A or B ? (The B are less polygons)
Try something in between...I mean...that train stop has about 4 times as many tris as the windmill, while the windmill would be considerably bigger in size...I guess...

I don't mind people modeling bolts, just keep them a 6 sided cylinder with no bevels or extra geo.
this day i almost finished some little crate and barrels with the normals and the AO.
It remains only the diffuse.
180 triangles for the big box, 100 tris for the little and 216 for the barrel and 370 for the other.
I would like to have a visual style like TF2.:)
