Hey hey,
I'm pretty new at this whole 3D thing and to polycount in particular, but this challenge seems really cool so I'm going to try putting something together.
I'm going to be modeling with Blender and I may use Blender as the game engine as well, but I'm also leaning towards UDK since I've worked with it before and Blender is not the most intuitive package I've worked with, to say the least.
My idea is a human spaceship crashing in the middle of an alien city. The hero must then make his way to the palace of the alien leader ("Take me to your leader!") beating up aliens along the way.
Challenges:
1- Learning Blender as a 3d application.
2- Learning GIMP as an image manipulation/texturing utility.
3- Working low poly.
4- Finishing a project.
This is a big learning experience for me, I expect it to be hard but I know I'm going to come out of it with very valuable knowledge. So ya, very exited.
Good luck to everyone participating. I can't wait to see the great works that'll come out of this!
Cheers,

Good luck!
I've come up with another concept too. Which one is better?
This one is about a computer riddled with adware spyware and virii. The player is cast in the role of Dr Watson, pro debugger. The good doctor will have to bash through adware and beat the crap out off spyware and malware on his way to the network adapter to close off the ports letting in the infection.
At this point I have the first area, authentication and root directory.
Just for shits and giggles I made this:
Dr Watson to the rescue!!
Some more concept. Tried putting some color in here but I just can't get it to look good. So here it is without.
Now I know I need to do some colour studies and stuff... :poly131:
I kinda feel like jumping into the UDK for some prototyping, so I'm gonna do that.
