Looks nice, easy to read layout, nice colour scheme. I would personally thin the borders on the smaller square images but that's just a personal taste.
Also maybe more of a flashy banner, but that's another nitpick, just something to spice up the site even more.
The site looks nice, simple and clean. I just have a few suggestions.
Is the about link going to also have your CV/resume on it? If so I suggest changing it to resume and not about. Other then seeing your art people want to know your work experience if any. Like I said I'd change it to resume and not about so there is no confusing of where one could go to find your resume.
I don't know but personal I'd never put a direct link to any social networking sites on my site, but linked in is not that bad I suppose.
Other then that I'd suggest maybe changing your large image to maybe something different. I found my self trying to click on it to see what pop up image would come from it.
Hope I was at least alittle bit helpful.
Edit: Oh and almost forgot, I'd have your email address right beside or under your name at the top of your website so future employers could easily find how to contact you.
Hey man, I dig your female character model. However her pose is not doing the model justice. It looks like she's either scratching her butt on the podium or that she is somehow, er, impaled on something. Heh.
I miss the option to save images. Many of the human resource recruiters often save pictures they find interesting in portfolios. Maybe helps to have a low opacity text with your web address on each image to make it easier for future contact. You have to remember that you have to make yourself as accessible as possible.

Looking forward to seeing it complete.
